Strawberry Sparkle raises £4,374.98

On Wednesday 20th August, 106 ladies attended the annual Strawberry Sparkle held at Rochdale Golf club for an afternoon of fun, luxury, fundraising and entertainment. The ladies were greeted by our real life strawberry and enjoyed a complimentary glass of bubbles kindly donated by Marston's brewery. Lunch was provided by 'Food from Scratch' and was enjoyed by all, washed down by plenty of bubbly! Local florists kindly donated the table centres that were raffled off to the lucky winners. The GEM Appeal video was shown which explained all about the charity's focus and gave all at the event an overview of what we do and why.. The ladies were invited to browse the stalls which included Tropic skin care with Amanda, Jo's crafts, Chris's pictures and prints, the Bridge sweet shop and Nadia jewellery. On each table was a jar of Strawberry jam, kindly donated by Duers and 1 lady from each table was invited to take the jar home, do some sort of fundraising from the produce and donate to the GEM Appeal. The event was compared by award winning actor Reece Ryan BCA - recently acclaimed for his lead role in Netflix film 'Boar hog' The ladies were entertained by singer/entertainer Damon Noone accompanied by our wonderful celebrity guest Trisha Penrose - star of TV's Heartbeat. There was a luxury raffle, Pick-a-berry prize every time tombola, &10 beauty bags to be grabbed! and a mini auction. All in all it was a fantastic afternoon and £4,374.98 was raised!
