The Diamond and Pearl Ball was held at the lovingly restored Rochdale Town Hall on Saturday 15th June, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Gem Appeal. Over 180 guests enjoyed a Sparkling Drinks Reception with singer Harriet Jarvis, a dazzling 3 course Dinner and an evening of Glittering Entertainment, compered by Bruce Turner, in the magnificent Great Hall. Greater Manchester Police Band performed throughout the evening, accompanied by soloists and The Harmony Belles. Singer, Yvette Royle headlined the event with songs which kept guests on the dance floor until midnight. The occasion was marked perfectly with a 3 tier cake created by Brown's Cakes, Rochdale and with a video message of congratulations from singer Heather Small, the voice of M People. Heather Small headlined the “Hooray for Hollywood” Ball, hosted by Gem Appeal Patron, Denise Welch in Manchester in 2021. The Gem Appeal has adopted her song “Proud” and all guests sang this in an emotional and glittering torchlight finale. 30 years is a major milestone in the Gem Appeal story and this event had some special and memorable moments. A raffle and auction boosted the total raised on the night to £5500.
Special thanks go to Crystal Doors, also celebrating 30 years this year, and The Co-op, for their support and sponsorship of The Ball and the whole team at Rochdale Town Hall. We would like to thank everyone for donations of raffle and auction prizes and all our guests and supporters over the last 30 years.
Thank you for your GEMEROSITY.
